Whisked: A Holiday Baking Event presented by the Detroit Free Press and the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers is 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 1.

The evening event takes place at the Great Lakes Culinary Center in Southfield. There will be live baking demos, tips for holiday baking, plenty of samples and a plethora of expertise from area baking experts, including Holiday Market in Royal Oak, Good Cakes and Bakes in Detroit, Ethel’s Baking Co., in St. Clair Shores and Avalon Café and Bakery in Detroit.

Appetizers and light refreshments will be served along with plenty of sampling from presenters.

Participating bakeries this year are Avalon Café and Bakery in Detroit, Holiday Market in Royal Oak, Ethel’s Baking Co. of St. Clair Shores and Good Cakes and Bakes in Detroit.

Along with the demonstrations, the bakeries will have product available for sale. Canned goods donations to benefit Forgotten Harvest will also be accepted at the event.
