Fox News was forced to retract a story about a fake Navy SEAL veteran.
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson released a statement Tuesday correcting what he says was an erroneous news report about the county providing free legal aid to illegal immigrants.
“Fox & Friends First on Fox News Channel falsely reported today that Oakland County, Mich. is one of 11 cities and counties that will provide free legal aid to illegal immigrants facing deportation. Oakland County, Mich. is not providing any kind of free legal representation to illegal immigrants. The source of the story, Mother Jones magazine, listed Oakland/Alameda County in California, not Oakland County, Mich.,” reads a news release from the county.
Patterson was quoted as saying, “The report on Fox & Friends First couldn’t be further from the truth. Their egregious reporting error has caused angry residents to call my office today. We have contacted a Fox & Friends producer to correct the story.”
