A man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck and caught fire Tuesday morning in Phoenix, officials said.

The crash occurred near 12th Street and Missouri Avenue around 8:45 a.m.

Bystanders extinguished the fire and pulled the motorcyclist from the flames, according to Capt. Larry Subervi with the Phoenix Fire Department.

The man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived, Subervi said.

No one else was injured, Subervi added.

Phoenix police are investigating the crash.
