Friendly feline Bilbo needs a forever home

Animal welfare experts are looking for a new home for a friendly feline.

West Lothian Cats Protection are curently looking after Bill, or Bilbo to his friends, and his carers say he is an extremely friendly and confident cat.

They say he is a very people-orientated lap cat and spends most of his time with company but he will also take himself off for a quiet snooze in one of his favourite spots

Bilbo is not a very active cat, although he enjoys a quiet play, and will break into a trot to say hello when he has not seen you for a while or if there are treats on offer.

Because he lived on a farm and is confident, he might well be OK to live with the right dog but not with other cats. He is a mellow soul and needs a quiet home away from busy roads with no young children.

He is also very fond of twining around legs, so would not suit anyone who is unsteady on their feet. Unfortunately, Bill has moderate heart failure and an overactive thyroid gland, but he is doing really well and these are controlled with tablets, which he eats mixed in with his food.

Although he is currently a normal active cat, his life span will probably be limited by these conditions.

If you can offer him a forever home, call 01506 298107 or use the ‘Contact us’ form on the branch website www.cats.org.uk/west-lothian and a home visit can easily be arranged.

The branch have a rehoming day on Saturday, July 22, from 1pm to 3pm at Newyearfield Farm Community Centre, Hawk Brae, Livingston.
