Bus station yob to carry out unpaid work

A Hamilton teenager was put on supervision and ordered to carry out unpaid work for making offensive remarks and threats of violence at the town’s bus station.

Ethan Allan, of Kerr Crescent, shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner and repeatedly made grossly offensive remarks and threats of violence on August 24 last year.

Earlier this month 18-year-old Allan had admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner while he was on bail.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday Sheriff Thomas Millar imposed a community payback order as an alternative to custody.

Allan will be supervised for a year and must do 150 hours of unpaid work within six months.
