Westbound I-94 at Conner is closed after one of two unrelated highway shootings this morning in Detroit, authorities said. 

All westbound lanes were closed at 6:29 a.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The recommended detour for morning commuters is westbound I-696 to southbound I-75.

Michigan State Police reported two separate shootings — one on westbound I-94 near Harper Avenue, the other on westbound I-96 near Davison Freeway — at about 4:15 a.m. A man was hit in the leg in the I-94 shooting and was hospitalized, and the male motorist in the I-96 shooting wasn’t injured, but his vehicle was hit, police said on Twitter.
